Black Rain Group Charity and Donations for Haiti
18 Erdbebenwaisen finden im Waisenhaus der Black Rain Group ein neues Zuhause
Cap Haitien/Port-au-Prince/Zürich – Seit dem 12. Januar 2010 ist das Leben von Markenson Augustin ein völlig anderes. Am Abend jenen Tages zerstörte das verheerende Erdbeben seine Heimatstadt Port-au-Prince. Es riss seine Eltern in den Tod. Es nahm ihm seine kindliche Unbeschwertheit– Markenson Augustin ist neun Jahre alt. Vor acht Wochen hat die Normalität das Leben des Kindes scheinbar für immer verlassen. Heute lebt Markenson im Norden Haitis – im neuen Waisenheim der Black Rain Group Foundation und Normalität kehrt ganz langsam zurück.
Gemeinsam mit Markenson haben 14 weitere Halb- und Vollwaisen ein Zuhause im neu eröffneten Black Rain Group-Waisenhaus in Cap Haitien gefunden. Zwölf der insgesamt 18 Kinder stammen aus dem Erdbebengebiet rund um Port-au-Prince. Um den Kindern die Möglichkeit zu geben, zunächst zur Ruhe zu kommen und sich an ihr neues Leben zu gewöhnen, wird von den Mitarbeitern des Waisenheims ein kindgerechter Alltag gestaltet. „Gemeinsam mit den Kindern spielen, malen oder singen wir“, erzählt der Projektleiter vor Ort, Jaquesson Mexil. „Sie machen dabei einen fröhlichen Eindruck. Sie lachen viel.“ Mit der Realisierung des Waisenhauses hatte die Black Rain Group bereits vor dem dramatischen Erdbeben begonnen. Seit Ende Februar wird es bereits bewohnt – von Kindern, die darin ein Heim bis zu ihrer Volljährigkeit gefunden haben. In seiner Obhut sind regelmäßiges, gesundes Essen, gute hygienische Verhältnisse, medizinische Versorgung, pädagogische Betreuung, Kleidung sowie die Schulbildung sicher gestellt.
Die gemeinnützige Stiftung setzt auf die Zusammenarbeit mit einheimischen Partnern vor Ort und war dadurch schnell in der Lage, die ersten bezugsfähigen Räume für Erdbeben-Waisen zur Verfügung zu stellen. „In Haiti können Projekte wie unser neues Waisenhaus nur in Zusammenarbeit mit Einheimischen effektiv und schnell umgesetzt werden. Unsere Helfer wissen um den Umgang mit den Behörden, sie finden das Mittel zum Zweck vor Ort einfach schneller. Das ist insbesondere nach dieser Katastrophe ein unschätzbarer Wert“, so Stiftungsgründer Bruno Stettler. Das neue Waisenheim der Black Rain Group soll künftig über Spendengelder finanziert werden.
Wenn das ehemalige Office der Black Rain Group vollständig ausgebaut ist, wird es mit über 15 Zimmern, einem Außenhof und einer Terrasse Platz für bis zu 20 Kinder bieten. Stettler: „Im vergangenen Monat haben wir einen neuen Kühlschrank sowie einen Stromgenerator aus der Dominikanischen Republik besorgt.“ Das Haus ist vollständig ummauert und wird nachts zusätzlich von einem Wachmann betreut. Das Waisenhaus ist somit gut vor Überfällen geschützt, die in Haiti allein schon wegen Lebensmittelnot immer wieder vorkommen.
